P90 Workout Reviews – Beachbody’s New P90 Workout 2014
Exciting news today – I have the new P90 workout review for you! Only just released in September 2014, the new P90 is NOT the same as the original ‘Power 90’ program, which was released back in 1999. That’s a long time ago now, and a whole lot has changed since then.
You’ll no doubt be aware of the more extreme workouts P90X, P90X2 and P90X3 that have been released since then. These are all Beachbody programs with main man Tony Horton as the fitness trainer.
The new P90 workout however is not as intense as these programs. It is designed for people who are just getting started, or have been inactive for a while and need a new exercise routine to get back in the game. It’s designed to be the ‘on switch’ to fitness.

So this 90-day workout is a kind of gateway to getting a good base level of fitness. It will ease you into the fitness process and help you get healthy on a day-to-day basis. The workouts are about 25 to 30 minutes long, so literally anybody can do them and they won’t take up much of your time at all.
You will build upon the previous workouts as you go along and gain a better level of fitness over time, with 3 separate phases (one for each month).
Let’s find out a bit more about the program:
How is P90 Structured?
This is a 90-day workout that is broken down into 10 workouts spread across 3 phases. It comes with a P90 workout schedule so you can follow along and track your results.
Phase A: The first phase is about stretching your limits and easing into the fitness game. This is the first 30 days of the program, and it is designed to get you a bit leaner and prepare for what’s to come. It breaks down into these 3 workouts:
Sculpt A – Get your body strong
Sweat A – Melt that fat
Ab Ripper A – Add power and definition to your core
Sculpt B – All about muscle growth
Sweat B – Burning calories
Ab Ripper B – Continue carving out the perfect abs
Phase C: The final phase, from day 60 to day 90, will finally bring you the lean, strong body you’re aiming for.
You can probably guess what’s coming here:
Sculpt C – Gives your body definition
Sweat C – Build your endurance and incinerate the fat
Ab Ripper C – Now you can show off that sexy six-pack!
There is also in fact a bonus 10th workout, the Saturday Special. This is a great way to burn off even more calories at the weekend in an efficient way that complements the rest of the 90-day workout.
What Equipment Do I Need For The New P90?
Tony Horton says that the human body is an amazing tool, and you will make good use of it in the P90 workout. For many of the moves, you will not need any equipment.
When you buy through the official Beachbody site, you get a free set of Pro-Grade resistance bands. This is all you’re going to need for P90, but if you have a set of small weights then you can make use of those instead if you like.
Personally I love the resistance bands as they are lightweight, easy to carry with you and get the job done.
Other than that, you don’t need anything except a bottle of water and a smile on your face!
New P90 Workout Reviews – My P90 Results So Far
I’m still going through the 90-day program but I’ve done enough now to share my thoughts with you.
I can tell you straight away that this is an amazing program for someone who is new and looking to get into the fitness game, and even the same if you have just allowed yourself to slip out of shape in the last year.
No matter what your experience level, your age or history, this is a great place to get started.
I myself had been a bit inactive towards the end of the summer, and when P90 was released at the end of September, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to get back into the ‘groove’ of working out.
It worked out great as well. Having Tony Horton on your screen is a great motivation, and it’s fun too. I’ve sampled all the workouts (even though I’m only officially in month 2) and it is a great progression. As far as my P90 results go, I’ve lost a bit of weight (about 11 pounds) and am noticeably firmer in the abs and leaner overall.
