Shaun T Insanity Workout – Extreme 60 Day Body Conditioning Workout

Can it really only take 60 days to get your body like Shaun T’s? In the Shaun T Insanity workout, anything goes. It’s down to how bad you really want it.

It’s funny now that Shaun T is actually more well-known for his Insanity workout than anything else. Shaun actually has extensive dance theater experience. With a longstanding interest in choreography, he has been the choreographer of several high-profile events including the Garden State Dance Festival, the NCAA Final 4 halftime show, and the movie Bring It On: All or Nothing.

All this to say that Shaun needs to keep his body in top shape to maintain his dance career. That’s why he’s partnered with Beachbody to produce Shaun T’s Insanity workout, a total body conditioning program like no other.

Shaun T s Insanity Workout

Let’s take a look at the Shaun Insanity workout, and how it breaks down for you.

Insanity-transformationWhen you get the regular set, you’ll receive 10 DVDs. This program is design to take you from a normal body to an absolutely ripped body. What’s new here is Shaun’s very own ‘Maximum Interval Training’. These max interval training workouts are light years ahead of any other fitness programs out there.

A traditional interval training workout might have you work out in short but intense bursts, followed by longer periods of rest or moderate exercise. This shouldn’t be written off as it is still effective, as displayed in the Rushfit George St Pierre training program we reviewed recently.

However, the new method will have you training harder, for longer. While this can sound scary for some, the idea is to push yourself so you are working at maximum capacity for longer. This is where your muscle tissue breaks down and can be rebuilt stronger than ever, faster than ever. If you don’t push yourself to the limits, then you’ll stay stagnant. This is interwoven with short periods of rest.

It all becomes easier when you have the DVDs to follow along with. Of course, you should not be comparing yourself to anybody else. Just measure your own performances against your past results. Then you’ll start to see the Insanity body transformation.

Shaun T Insanity DVDs

Here are the first 7 workout DVDs and what you can expect out of them:

  • Dig Deeper & Fitness Test (‘Let’s see what you’re made of.’)
  • Plyometric Cardio Circuit (intense lower body plyometrics and fat burning cardio workouts)
  • Cardio Power & Resistance (to build strength and upper body definition)
  • Cardio Recovery and Max Recovery (a slightly easier workout to prepare for the next week)
  • Pure Cardio & Abs (here is where we step it up a gear to extreme cardio workouts)
  • Cardio Abs (explosive intervals of cardio and core moves for rock-hard abs)
  • Core Cardio & Balance (another breather at the end of the first 4 weeks)

Then there are 3 DVDs that focus on Max Interval Training:

  • Max Interval Circuit (more intense than anything you’ll have seen before)
  • Max Interval Plyo (‘Push your legs until they beg for mercy.’)
  • Max Cardio Conditioning & Abs

The exercises in each DVD take an average of 1 hour, although some of the easier ones can be as short as 20 minutes.

You will also receive an Insanity calendar to track your progress, note down your results and set your goals. On top of that, there is an elite nutrition plan, a fitness guide and a suite of free online support tools including peer support and access to fitness experts around the clock.

You will have everything you need to stay inspired and motivated from the Shaun T Insanity workout course.

  1. If ur 202 can I loose weight with shaun t insanity.

    • Absolutely! The only way is to try and find out for yourself. Everybody is different, so track your results and let me know how it goes.

  2. Is this for heavyset people? Obese people working out and want to go all the way.

    • Always check with your doctor before starting any workouts. If they say it’s ok, then try it out and take it at your own pace. It’s mostly cardio so it should be fine. Good luck!

  3. On the workout schedule do you do both workouts back to back? Example: Day 13 is pure cardio and cardio abs. Do we split them up in the day or go back to back?

    • Pure cardio & cardio abs are part of the same DVD, so I believe it’s all one workout at about 55 minutes. Having said that, if you’d prefer to split your workouts into twice daily, I don’t see any harm in that. Normally you just follow what Shaun says in the DVDs

  4. I am generally fit and attend classes but over our jubilee weekend and some issues at home i havent made my general gym routine. i was getting sick of it anyway i was killing it at the general classes i attend but not getting anywhere near the results i wanted and as far as i was concerned earning. I got so frustrated and gave in and went for this. although the results I can see on the before and after photos have differing results. Afterall results are results so i gave in and went for it. its a killer. im only on day 2 half feel energised for the change and to take the challenge. Half scared. im deffinately going to have to dog deep for this one. My main concern is the results, i need to take regular breaks at first as it is high intensive interval and the main explosive movements get my heart soaring i need a breath. bit nervous about but it does say take a breather if needed. im hoping the results are on my side. i dont have too much to lose, i think im in the middle. im not massive but i am no way upto what the women in the videos look athletic. but day 2 is nothing. im finding mixed reviews but no way are any saying that its bad. so im going to have to dig deep in the way that i need to carry on with the 60 days as with other general womens workout dvds i might just give up. im praying if i stay the course i can get some results. i do enough so i have fitness ive just had enough with not getting the ones i want. im hoping for a more trim mid section. and possibly be a bit more defined. but as i say only day 2. but i hope this is the dvd for me

  5. I can personally vouch for the Insanity workout. I bought it with my roommate a while back and average weight loss at about 2 lbs per week. Please note that I didn’t particularly care for the included diet, so this 2 lbs per week is highly subjective based on what I feel like eating.
Anyway, the workout was definitely worth the money, but like mentioned above don’t try right away to move like the people on the video if you’re out of shape, or you’ll end up hurting yourself. Focus instead on completion and safety instead of speed and reps until you get used to it. Also be sure to keep water on hand, and I would recommend on turning the AC on: You warm up pretty quick!

  6. I weighed around 215 lbs at the time i started the insanity work out.till now i have tried gymming on and off for 5 years and also prepared for marathon.
At present I am on my 6th week which is really tuft one…..i can assure that you will lose your unnecessary weight issues, besides that your body will become flexible and the stamina will increase considerably.
i feared Push up Jacks, but now i just love my strength i have gained after doin insanity.

  7. I’m having subcutaneous type of fat i.e. soft fat that can be grabbed in hands. I am 23 male, 5’11” weighing 200lbs. Would your program work for me???

    • Yes, Insanity will work to lower your body fat. That includes inner fat that you don’t see, and the fat you may be able to see and grab, as you say. It’s a tough workout but it gets results. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

  8. Thank you for the post! I’d just like to know if the DVD’s are also organized in dates of exercise (Day 1 – Day 60) as it’s a 60-day program, or do they maybe include a program in booklet form telling you which DVD and exercise to use (or maybe the calender)? Thanks again! – T
